I just graduated from a liberal arts college, so naturally I have been sheltered from all normal people and experiences for my entire life. Watch me as I stumble through adultescence.
Hey there world (mom),
Surprise! I live in Abu Dhabi now, since Sunday anyway. It’s hot here, but the city is great. I know a couple useless Arabic words:
El Hassan - the horse
El dichdat - the frog
Hamam - bathroom
Doing well so far. It’s alright though, most people speak some English. I learned most of those words from a free Arabic app, so perhaps if I try harder (ie take formal lessons), I’ll learn more. Just a theory.
So today was fun. I went to what basically amounts to a modern Ellis Island and waited four hours to have my blood drawn and get a chest x-ray to confirm that I do not have communicable diseases (read HIV and TB). Yay. Hopefully I pass. That’s all for now. Ta ta!
